Dominion Resources, formerly known as Hope and CNG, will cut several hundred jobs over the next year, with most of the
cuts this summer.
A company spokesperson said the majority of the cuts are aimed at improving efficiency.
The Richmond, Virginia based company will lay off about 100 meter readers across Virginia because the company is
installing 500,000 additional automated electric meters, which sends readings to Dominion. The meters will eliminate
estimated bills.
Other cuts will be in support jobs and the company's energy generation and transmission departments.
Dominion has operations in West Virginia.
