What started as a domestic incident in Doddridge County landed a Gilmer County man behind bars.
According to the criminal complaint, just before 12:30 am Monday, officers responded to a Domestic Violence complaint on Jacobs Lane in Smithburg.
Upon arrival, the victim Shannon Collin told officers she had been hit in the stomach by a cinder block that was thrown through a window. Just days prior to the incident, Collin phoned law enforcement several times for harassment by 42-year-old Charles Williams Davis.
Around 4:15 am authorities received a call about a stolen Red 2016 Ford F-150 from the Shell Gas Station. A gas station employee and the owner of the vehicle identified the suspect as Mr. Davis.
The owner of the vehicle advised that she had a 9mm pistol in the middle console of the truck.
At 4:48 am officers were notified by 911 officials that the Red Ford F-150 had wrecked into a home on Jacobs Lane. However, when authorities arrived Mr. Davis was gone. Residents at the home said that Mr. Davis tried to get inside, before firing several shots and running the truck into the home.
Mr. Davis was later arrested. He is charged with Grand Larceny and Wanton Endangerment and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond. |
