CLAY TEACHER ALLEGEDLY HAD STUDENTS TORTURE-KILL BIRDS

(06/02/2018)
A 10th grade teacher at Clay County High School, several days ago, was accused on social media with a petition to fire her related to alleged torture of birds.

The teacher has been identified locally as Joy Proctor, but that could not be confirmed.

Locals told the Herald that Proctor is not at work.

Numerous attempts by the Hur Herald to reach school officials by phone and email failed.

The petition reads:

A 10th-grade teacher at Clay County High School in Clay, WV had her students catch birds, put the live birds in ziplock baggies and put them in the school's freezer. Once they caught several birds she retrieved the still alive birds from the freezer then had her students drown them in buckets of alcohol. The BOE knows about the situation and is doing its best to cover this up. Don't let this animal cruelty go unpunished!"

A number of citizens signed the petition to fire her and commented negatively on the alleged behavior, yet to be confirmed.
