Bernstein Neville "B.N." Cooper, 91, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in a Beckley hospital.
He was born at Little Creek, Creston, the eldest son of the late Howard C. and Sarah Jane Shrader Cooper.
He retired from Cabot Oil & Gas Co. as assistant superintendent in Pineville. He was a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and Pineville Lions Club with 29 years of service.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Joyce Worrell of Oceana and Patricia Jane Lewis of Wyoming; two sons, Mitchell David Cooper of Sophia and Randall Boyd Cooper of Bluefield, Va.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Byrnadeen Offutt of Millstone; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Opal Eloise Davis Cooper, May 12, 1996; one infant daughter, Carletta Joy Cooper; one granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Cooper; and his brother, Forrest A. Cooper.
His body was sent to West Virginia University Dept. of Anatomy Human Gift Registry, Morgantown. A memorial to celebrate his life was held at Cooke Memorial Baptist Church, Pineville, with Rev. Clay Phillips and Rev. Glen Kuhn officiating. |
