Sarah Shelby Bell Shaffer, age 42, of North Lewisburg, Ohio, formerly of Calhoun County, West Virginia, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Ohio.
She was an early education teacher for Headstart in the central Ohio area. She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in early childhood education from The Ohio State University.
She attended Haven Community Church and Raymond Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked fishing, camping and riding four wheelers.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was born June 11, 1976 in Barberton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her "Pap" and "Nan" (grandparents and adoptive parents) Harold Shelby and Mary Louise Greathouse Bell, Sr., two infant daughters, Erin Shelby and Charleigh Sophia; twin infant sons; and two step-brothers, Christopher Bell and George Duskey, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles Shaffer, whom she married February 28, 1991 in Clinton, Ohio; two daughters, Tiffany Shaffer of Marysville and Kayleigh Shaffer of North Lewisburg; her grandson, Charles Wyatt Shaffer; her siblings, Matt Duskey, Mandy Duskey, Matthew Bell and Clayton Bell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 18th at Snyder Chapel Church, 1-1271 Katies Run Road, Creston, West Virginia (Calhoun County). Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. before the funeral. Rev. Farley Blankenship will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
