Leota Helen Cunningham, 96, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Harrisville, WV, died May 9, 2018 at her daughter's residence in Nashville.
She was born May 29, 1921 at Grantsville, WV, the daughter of the late Clay and Murrell B. Holbert Collins. Leota graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1940 and married Arthur B. Cunningham in 1944.
She travelled with her husband during World War II and worked for the draft board. After the war they opened The Green and White truck stop on Old Rt. 50. Later they opened Imperial Furniture Co. in Harrisville from 1953-1994. She moved to Nashville in 2002. While living in Harrisville, WV she attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Emma Cunningham Lorentz (Charles) of Brentwood, TN, and Judy Cunningham of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Rachel Hill-Jordan (Chad) of Mt. Zion, IL and great granddaughter, Ella Jordan; and sister-in-law, Ruby Collins of Big Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1977; and brothers, Delbert Collins, Harley Ray Collins and Robert Collins.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Nobe Cemetery, Calhoun County, WV with Pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulloughRaiguel.com. Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville assisted the family with arrangements. |
