CALHOUN VOTERS PASS EMERGENCY SERVICE LEVY - Prosecutors Salary Supplement Defeated |
(05/10/2018) |
Calhoun voters passed an Emergency Services levy, which will support one ambulance with 24/7 coverage to the county, in addition to supporting the three fire departments and supplementing the salary for a deputy sheriff. 67% of the voters supported the levy with 710 voting for and 32% voting against with 347 votes. The Prosecutor Salary supplement levy failed, 61% voting against with 642 votes, with 406 voting for the levy at 38%. The Calhoun Commission will have to come up with supplemental funds for a full time prosecutor, likely making budget cuts for other areas. |
