MAN RESISTED ARREST - A man was shot and arrested last night after Huntington Police say he became combative with officers.

HPD says that two officers were dispatched to Bostwick Road in Guyandotte at around 9:15 PM after getting a call about a suspicious person. The officers say they encountered the suspect outside of a residence.

Police say officers used a Taser to try and subdue the man after he became combative with the officers.They say the suspect remained combative and reached for a firearm on his person. An officer then shot the man once.

Joshua Ramey, 26, of Huntington, was arrested. Police say that his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

One officer was treated and released from a local hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

The Huntington Police Department is consulting with the Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Charges will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Huntington Police say that the officers will be placed on administrative leave and will be offered counseling, which is standard operating procedure for officer-involved shootings.

CHARLESTON STAND OFF - One person is in custody after a police standoff in Charleston.

The standoff happened on Hunter's Ridge Road about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said they were called to the home after the suspect and another family member got into a struggle over a gun.

Officer said the man then barricaded himself inside the home, and eventually surrendered to police.

The name of the man has not been released. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Nobody was injured during the standoff.
