Linda Davis, 79, of Glenville, WV departed this life on Friday April 13, 2018 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center, following an extended illness. Born April 29, 1938 in Gilmer County, Linda is the daughter of the late Oliver C. and Ruth Barnes Davis.
Linda was a graduate of Tanner High School, class of 1956 and was also a graduate of Glenville State College with a 4 year degree. She was a secretary for Hope Gas which is now Dominion Gas with 30 plus years experience.
In her spare time she enjoyed volunteering for a literacy program in Clarksburg, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Linda is survived by 2 nephews, Charles W. Davis Jr. and wife Angela of Jane Lew, and Jeremy Don Davis of Glenville, 1 niece, Sarah Ruth Moss and husband Jonathan of Glenville, and 1 sister-in-law, Melody Faye Davis of Glenville.
Also surviving are a host of great nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Linda was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ruth Davis, brother, Charles Davis, and infant sister Cora Margaret Davis.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, April 20, 2018 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery at Holts Run Road. Friends will be received from 11-1 Friday at the mortuary.
