Shirley Hosey (left) and Holly Kerby (right) were the custodians at the old Calhoun County High School. They were known
for their "broom patrol" and clean-up crews of students who were released from class to accomplish janitorial work, and
holding court in the janitor's room in the basement. This
picture was taken in the early 1960's by photographer Morris Bower, who was active in the Camera
Club and often carried his camera, looking for
that candid
shot. His film was routinely developed by hand in the dark room at the
end of
the second story hallway, with Summers Furr
sponsoring the Camera Club. |
