MAN SHOT IN CHEST - Charleston police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest and wrist early Thursday morning near the intersection of Elm Street and Virginia Street West.
Alexander "Alex" Brown, 35, of Charleston was shot about 5 a.m. in the 400 block of Elm Street in Charleston, police said.
No suspects are known at this time. Charleston police said Brown is not cooperating with the investigation.
Brown was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
BUCKHANNON STABBINGS - Authorities have charged a 65-year-old Upshur County man with murder in relation to a call originally believed to be a self-inflicted stab wound.
Leo McWilliams was found unconscious at a home on West Victoria Street in Buckhannon with a laceration wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead on scene and sent to the state medical examiner's office.
A second man, Timothy McWilliams, was also on scene and had suffered a laceration wound to the forearm. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment and released to the Upshur County Sheriff's Office.
Timothy McWilliams was seen before Magistrate Coffman and held without bail at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
