| The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a Federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs by providing a one-time per year benefit.
Open intake for Emergency LIEAP will begin on Monday, March 12, 2018.
The client must have a shut off notice. The application process requires a face to face interview. The program will run until Friday, March 16, 2018 or until funds have been exhausted. For questions please contact Jessica L. Dale at Jessica.L.Dale@wv.gov or 304-356-4653.
There is also a new Emergency Repair and Replacement program.
If someone is without heat or without sufficient heat and they meet the income guidelines for LIEAP they may be eligible for funds to repair or replace their home heating system.
The income limit is 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
A household must have someone in it that is either age 60 or over, disabled or has a child that is age 5 or under.
That program can also repair or replace the air conditioner unit with the same income guidelines. They will be taking applications for just the cooling portion starting May 1st. They are handling the heating units and those that need and qualify for both heating and cooling now. |
