Roane County's History Hero invites you to join her Face-
book Group if you are interested in history and genealogy
Long time Roane County Historical Society
member Lisa Carper-Stott (seen above) created the group
where people in four of West Virginia's
counties gather online to discuss topics,
make connections of all kinds, help each
other with genealogy and share anything
pertaining to West Virginia's history in Roane, Jackson, Clay and
Kanawha County.
Since creating the group in 2016 it has grown to
over 2600 members.
Lisa, an Akron, Ohio native spends time in Gay, Jackson County,
WV where she hopes to eventually retire someday. When she's not
helping people with genealogy and doing research on her own family
tree she spends time playing her favorite game, darts.
Some of her
ancestors include Jesse Hughes, Captain William Morris, John Jehu
"The Bear Hunter" Summers, and Captain John Wetzel just to name a
few.
You can request to join her Facebook Group by going to
