Minnie Yvonne Ellyson, 79, of Alice Road, Cox's Mills, WV departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her residence, following an extended illness. Born January 10, 1939 in Gilmer County, Yvonne is the daughter of the late Homer R. and Eva Pearl Campbell Sheets.
Yvonne is a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1956. She was a homemaker for most of her life but also had 10 plus years experience as a kitchen aid with Sunbridge Health Care in Glenville. In her spare time, Yvonne was an avid watcher of the Weather Channel and enjoyed relaxing with a cup of coffee and cigarette.
On October 13, 1964, Yvonne was united in marriage to Maynard Ellyson, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1976.
Surviving are 2 sons, Don Ellyson of Cox's Mills, and Kevin Ellyson of Waxhaw, NC; 1 grandson, Dakota Ellyson of Cox's Mills, and 2 half sisters, Gladys Burton of Cox's Mills, and Loretta Bailey of Salem, WV.
Along with her parents and husband, Yvonne is preceded in death by 1 brother, Homer R. Sheets Jr; 4 haft brothers, Wendell Ross Sheets, and William H; Raymond, and Eugene Reeder.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Sunday February 11, 2018 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Masonic Cemetery in Good Hope, WV. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Saturday evening at the Mortuary.
