CHARLES DENNIS WEST, JR., 88, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.
He was born October 26, 1929 in Roane County, a son of the late Charles Dennis and Mary Ann Price West. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum, a member of the Rush Creek Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Junior is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Wayne and Kim West of Dandridge, Tennessee; seven sisters, Freda Scott and Jewell Boggs, both of Spencer, Irene Allen of Uniontown, Ohio, Alice Harper of Falling Rock, West Virginia, Virginia Raines of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, Ruth Ray of Ripley, West Virginia, and Marie Starcher of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Earl West of Cottageville, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Amanda Sergent and Bradley West; several nieces and nephews; three step-daughters; and ten step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorma Smith West; and five brothers, Dayton, Joe, Otis, Oshel, and Buell West.
Service will be at 12:00 noon of Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Swank Cemetery near Speed, West Virginia. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. |
