| Joy Marie (Shaffer) Starcher, 77, of Mt. Zion, WV died Friday, February 2, 2018, at her home.
She was born December 13, 1940 at Mt. Zion, the daughter of the late James Farley and Violet (Snyder) Shaffer.
She was a 1959 graduate of Calhoun County High School. During her life she had been employed by the Grantsville News, Calhoun County Clerk's Office, West Virginia Telephone Company, and Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. She retired from the Calhoun County Board of Education. She then served as a member of the Calhoun County Board of Education.
She is survived by a sister, Linda Sampson of Grantsville, WV and a nephew, James R. DeWitt of Canton, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Starcher and her brother, Gearold O. DeWitt.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Minnora Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com |
