Roy L. Martin, 71, of Spencer, died January 6, 2018, at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a short illness, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 12, 1946, at Spencer, the son of the late Alfred and Gracie Lawson Martin.
Roy enjoyed working in the logging industry and operating a sawmill. He spent several years as an over the road truck driver with his cousin, Lenzy "Buzz" Martin, II.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, David and Tina Martin of Reedy and Steve Martin of Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and George Jones of Reedy; brothers, Carroll Martin and Jake Martin both of Reedy; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Hughes; brothers, Nelson, Eugene and Leslie Martin; sisters, Linda and Cathy; grandson, Nathan; daughter-in-law, Melanie Martin.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at the Fox Cemetery, Reedy on Saturday, January 13 at 1:00 P.M.
