GREENBRIER MURDER - The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an elderly man following an autopsy report from the State Medical Examiner's Office.
Officers from the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police found the body of Clarence Sheppard, 72, Sunday at his Rupert apartment.
The officers were conducting a welfare check at the time. Sheppard lived alone.
The State Medical Examiner's Office ruled Sheppard's death as a homicide.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office said in a statement more information will be released as the investigation continues.
RAND STABBING - A 16-year-old girl is recovering after being stabbed early Thursday morning at a home in Rand.
Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office say a man ran to his neighbor's home to call 911. He said a man and woman came into his house and tried to rob him.
The woman who went into the house stabbed a 16-year-old who was inside, according to deputies.
The victim suffered cuts to her arm, thigh and hand. She is expected to be OK.
No arrests have been made. |
