Geraldine B. Jackson, 87 of Grantsville, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg. She was born July 11, 1930 at Big Bend, a daughter of the late Adrian P. Bower, Sr. and Lona D. Starcher Bower.
She was a member of Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a member of over 60 years of the Grantsville Chapter 73, Order of Eastern Star. She was a former employee of the Calhoun County Board of Education, where she had worked as a financial manager.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Jackson, IV; and a brother, Adrian P. Bower, Jr.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Joan L. Jackson and Ken Jarrett of Athens, GA, and Alice A. and Dick Ullum of Grantsville; granddaughter, Sara Stalnaker and her husband Mike of Walker; sister, Ernestine Hardman of Windham, OH; and great grandchildren, Brandon Stalnaker, Matthew Stalnaker, and Andrew Stalnaker.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Monday, January 15, at Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church, Grantsville, with Pastor Rick Metheney and Pastor Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3pm until 5pm on Sunday at the church. Arrangements are in the care of John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
