WIND GUSTS EXCEEDING 40 MPH CAUSES CALHOUN OUTAGES

(11/20/2017)
Wind gusts exceeding 40 mph swept across Calhoun and the region Saturday night, downing trees and causing electric outage in some parts of the county.

Most of the electric service was restored Sunday night and Monday morning.

Frontier telephone customers experienced disruption and were told because of "a shortage of repairmen in your area," it could be November 29 before service is restored.

Despite the fact that cell service has barely improved in the county in the past 20 years, many Frontier landline customers have switched to cell service.
