Calhoun Schools had a mixed bag of results with the 2017 Smarter Balanced test results issued state wide.
Calhoun superintendent of schools Kelli Whytsell released the proficiency scores this week.
Calhoun grades 4th, 8th and 11th scored higher than the state average in English language.
Fourth graders scored higher in math than the state average.
Eight graders scored 31% proficiency in science, highest in the county.
The lowest proficiency scores were in math, about 18% proficiency in grades 5th and 11th.
The lowest in science proficiency was near 25% in grades 5th and 10th.
The lowest in English proficiency was near 36% in grades 5th and 7th.
