The Board of Education will be interviewing three applicants for an open board seat Monday night.
The three applicants include two men who have been open critics of the system, former Calhoun County Clerk Richard Kirby of Mt. Zion whose wife was a former school principal and Patrick Bell of Big Springs, a retired county bus driver and former service personnel advocate with the school system.
The third applicant is Jason Walker, a Calhoun Schools service person/bus driver and community volunteer.
The seat has been vacant since the resignation of board president Steve Whited.
The board will make the recommendation immediately following interviews at tonight's meeting
