Roane County officials say a Calhoun woman had taken prescription pills prior to a head-on collision that seriously injured a Roane woman in Spencer last December.
Tammy Lynn Lively, 49, of Wolf Run, Orma, was traveling north on Black Walnut Avenue when she crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Loretta Koon, 43, of Spring Creek, according to the Spencer Police Department.
Police said both vehicles were totaled and Koon was airlifted to a Charleston hospital for treatment of a serious head injury.
Police said Hively was disoriented when taken to Roane General, with no serious injuries.
Authorities allege that Hively had taken Xanax belonging to her mother, in addition to a muscle relaxant.
She has been charged with DUI with injury, and was released on $10,000 bail. |
