| A State Policeman made a traffic stop in the Wigner Street area of Grantsville about 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.
The driver bolted from the vehicle and ran down the hillside to River Street, a considerable distance, with officer in hot pursuit by foot.
The trooper caught up with the man near a car wash, while calling for back-up from other officers, according to Calhoun 911.
Grantsvile Police Chief Craig Gherke and another State Policeman responded to the scene.
The vehicle was impounded and the suspect was arrested.
Saturday night, Calhoun authorities arrested Rickey Allen Carpenter, Jr., 35, driving revoked DUI-3rd offense, obstructing, and possession with intent. He was taken to Central Regional Jail,
