Sharlene Rae Sadler, 48, of Belpre, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on January 26, 2003 at Camden dark Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 21, 1954, in Grantsville, WV, a daughter of the late Joshua S. and Minnie F. Bower Owens.
She was a 1973 co-valedictorian graduate of Calhoun County High School, where she was a member of the marching band, Acappella Choir, Vandalia Singers, and was a Golden Horseshoe winner.
Mrs. Sadler graduated from Parkersburg Community College in 1976 with an associate's degree in nursing, from West Virginia University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing, and was employed at Camden dark Memorial Hospital for 26 years as a registered nurse. She spent many years in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (recovery room) and was currently working as a RN Case Manager on 1st West Annex. This past June, she was named as the employee of the month and had been the President of the Employees' Association from 1988-91.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Parkersburg, but for the past year she and her husband had been attending Bethel Baptist Church, Parkersburg.
Sharlene accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a young girl and was a loving and devoted wife who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Sadler, Jr., of Belpre; whom she married on July 3, 1993 and who still loves her and will miss her more than he can imagine; her mother "in- law and father- in- law. Rev. and Mrs. Robert A. Sadler, Sr., who dearly loved her, brother -in- law William Jacobsson and sister-in- law Sandra Jacobsson and children. Also surviving are five sisters; her twin Darlene K. Roberts and husband Larry of Parkersburg, Carolyn Preston and husband Gary of Belpre, and Joyce Roberts and husband Forrest, Jr., Jean Godfrey and husband Kenneth, Greta Richards and husband Dewain, all of Grantsville.
She is also survived by five brothers, Ronald Owens and wife Ellen, Charles Owens and wife Donna of Parkersburg, and George Owens and wife Faye of Sunbury, OH, Woodrow Owens and wife Phyllis, and Joshua S. Owens, Jr. and daughter Vicki of Ravenswood. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Vonda Wiedenhoft, brother Ottmer Owens, sister "in- law Ava Owens, and brother- in- law Samuel C. Sadler.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, 7th Street, Parkersburg, with Rev. Robert A. Sadler, Sr. and Rev. Randall Kochersperger, officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-9 PM on Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.
