With the West Virginia State Police pulling their detachment in rural Elizabeth, Wirt County, a couple weeks ago, residents reported Friday morning that thieves had broken through a heavy wall of the Dollar General Store and removed a safe.
The Dollar General is located on State Route 14 in the town, almost in eye-shot of the former police headquarters.
