State Police have charged Richard Hurt, 47, of Gallipolis, Ohio, with dismemberment and concealment of a deceased woman's body in Mason County WV.
According to the criminal complaint, State Police went to a house on Abby Lane Saturday evening after getting a complaint about possible human remains on the property.
Police found human remains in a shallow grave on the property.
The homeowner told troopers Hurt had recently done some work in the area where the remains were found.
Hurt was located during a traffic stop.
According to the complaint, Hurt then confessed during an interview that the victim, a woman, had died of a drug overdose. He said he then dismembered her body with a saw, put the parts in trash bags.
He says he then took the bags to the property on Abby Lane, where he put them in a shallow grave that was covered with dirt and rubble.
Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning says that Hurt is a "person of interest" in the disappearance of 33-year-old Jessica Berry on July 18.
Browning also says that more arrests and charges could follow in the case.
