A body discovered in Wirt County Monday is being investigated by law
enforcement officials as a suspicious death. The body of David Scott Caltrider, 37, of nearby Spring Valley, was
found at the entrance of the Little Kanawha Nursey at Newark before 7 a.m. Monday. He was not an employee of the
nursery.
Wirt Sheriff's Department Sgt. L. J. Peck said law enforcement officials and Emergency Medical Services were
dispatched to the scene, indicating Caltrider was deceased when he was
found by a nursey employee.
Gregory T. Busch, Wirt County coroner, pronounced
Caltrider as deceased upon discovery, authorities reporting the man had
been dead for a period of time.

The body was sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's office in Charleston
for an autopsy.
Funeral arrangements will be completed at the Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
