CALHOUN GRAND JURY INDICTS SEVEN

A Calhoun Grand Jury issued seven indictments Tuesday, according to prosecutor Shannon Johnson.

- John Cash, 43, was indicted on one count of Purchasing and Possessing Precursors to Manufacture Methamphetamine, a felony; one count of Operating a Clandestine Methamphetamine Drug Laboratory, a felony; one count of Conspiracy, a felony; two counts of Concealing a Deadly Weapons, both misdemeanors; one count of Interfering with a Police Officer, a misdemeanor; and one count of Obstructing an Officer, a misdemeanor.

It is alleged that Mr. Cash manufactured methamphetamine in October of 2015. This case was investigated by Trooper B.S. Shingleton and Trooper S. A. McDonald of the West Virginia State Police.

- Jacob Dodd, 27, was indicted along with Mr. Cash for one count of Purchasing and Possessing Precursors to Manufacture Methamphetamine, a felony; and one count of Conspiracy, a felony.

= David Scott Cummings, 30, was indicted on one count of Failure to Meet an Obligation to Provide Support for a Minor, a Felony. It is alleged that he has been court ordered to pay child support for two children and has accrued an arrearage in excess of $11,717.60. This case was investigated by Joseph Earnest of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Child Support Enforcement.

- Mark Allen Cunningham, 42, was indicted on one count of Murder, a Felony (see additional story) in the death of Lennette Pauline Headley in October of 2014. First Sgt. L. G. O'Bryan of the West Virginia State Police presented the case to the Grand Jury which had been investigated by various members of the West Virginia State Police.

- Denzil Lee McKay, Jr., 31, was indicted on one count of Arson in the First Degree, a Felony. It is alleged that Mr. McKay burned a mobile home belonging to Joseph Godrey in August of 2015. This case was investigated by Sgt. M. S. Godfrey of the West Virginia State Police.

= Kevin Hale Richards, 26, was indicted on one count of Failure to Meet an Obligation to Provide Support for a Minor, a Felony. It is alleged that he has been court ordered to pay child support for a child and has accrued an arrearage in excess of $9321.40.

This case was investigated by Joseph Earnest of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Child Support Enforcement.

- Darren Spesungel Sims, 23, was indicted on one count of Failure to Meet an Obligation to Provide Support for a Minor, a Felony. It is alleged that he has been court ordered to pay child support for two children and has accrued an arrearage in excess of $13181.90. This case was investigated by Joseph Earnest of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Child Support Enforcement.

Indictments returned against individuals are merely charges at this time and are not indications of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
