RUBY PRICE WAYNE - Tariff/Former Calhoun | (12/18/2002) | Ruby L. Wayne, 94, of Ashland, Ohio, formerly of Tarriff, died Dec.
15, 2002, in Kingston of Ashland, Ashland, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 8, 1908, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Bernard
and C. S. "Susie" Ferrell Price. For 23 and a half years, she owned and operated
Wayne's Grocery, Tarriff, and was postmaster at the Tariff Post Office. She was
a charter member and past matron of the Linden Chapter No. 152, O.E.S.,
Linden. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Henry's Fork
Baptist Church, Tariff.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hall of Ashland, Ohio, and Betty
Wilson of Vienna; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.H.
"Oral" Wayne in 1967; one son, Billy Joe Wayne, serving with the U.S. Navy in
1954; and one sister, Lettie Smith.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home,
Spencer, with the Pastor F. R. White officiating. Burial will be in Clover
Cemetery, Clover, W.Va. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral
