Dry and warm weather continues this week creating a higher risk for brush fires.
Several brush fires have occurred across the state over the past few days.
Firefighters and the Division of Forestry said they understand that people need to burn some things, but now's just not the right time.
Currently, during the spring fire season, burning is prohibited between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This runs from March 1 through May 31. If you are caught burning during these hours and it results in a brush fire, you may be liable for any costs and damages that occur.
