Ruthie Jane Boggs Allen 83, of Parkersburg WV formerly of Spencer WV, passed away peacefully with her family present at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2016.
She was the daughter of Nathan and Mattie West Boggs of Newton WV.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George "Franklin" Allen who she fondly called "Punk"; two daughters, Barbara Shaulis (Barry) of Parkersburg, and Brenda Chichester (Rick) of Nashville TN; four grandchildren, Todd Shaulis (Shannan) and Amy Frame (Greg) both of Parkersburg, Nathan Chichester (Angela) and Natasha Chichester both of Nashville; four great grandchildren, Cameron Frame, Hayden Chichester, Carson Allen and Emerson Shaulis; a sister, Marie Wilson of Canton OH; a brother-in-law, Charles Allen of Louisville KY. Also nieces and nephews, Kay Anderson (Ray), Jimmy Boggs, Tim Wilson, Annetta Drake (Michael), Debbie Rowe (Bobby), and Sherrill Tolley (Scott); and her 21 year old cat, Squirt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, April Renee Allen; two brothers, Foster and James Boggs; and an infant sister, Maxine Boggs.
She graduated from Spencer High School. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and reading. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Wetzel Chapter No. 27, Spencer WV.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Bro. Bill Walton officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home where an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 3:30.
