NICHOLAS SHOOTING = A Nicholas County man is facing several charges after deputies say he was involved in a shooting and lied about being a West Virginia State Trooper.
Briar Allen Stewart, 22, of Nicholas County, was arrested Wednesday and charged with malicious wounding, two counts of wanton endangerment and nighttime burglary.
According to Nicholas County Sheriff's deputies, they were called to a home in the Dixie area of Nicholas County Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. for a shooting.
When they got on scene, deputies say they found that Stewart had gone to a house, knocked on the door and lied to the two men inside, telling them that he was a state trooper to try and get into the house.
Deputies say Stewart then pointed a gun at one of the men and later fired the gun through the front window.
The victim, Naamon Bird Jr., was hit in the arm.
Deputies say Stewart then took off from the scene.
