William F. "Fred" Mace, 77, of Parkersburg, died Dec. 15, 2002, at
his residence.
He was born in Spencer, son of the late George and Evelyn Mace. He was a
Mason, Shriner and member of the Nemesis Drum and Bugle Corps, and also
played with the Osiris Band in Wheeling. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge
in Spencer, where he was a past noble grand. Before his retirement, he worked at
E.I. DuPont with the Pipefitters Union Local 565.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loretta Ellen Davis Mace of Parkersburg;
one son, Fredric P. Mace of Brentwood, Md.; one daughter, Gloria Tayman of
North Beach, Md.; three stepchildren, Glenna Veith of Oakton, Va., Donna
Webb of Lauton, Okla., and Charles Starcher of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother,
Charles Mace of Spencer; several grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille; three brothers, Paul, George,
and Carl; and two half brothers, Freer and Dorsey.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Lindsay Thorp officiating. Burial will be in Fairplain
Cemetery, Fairplain. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today and until the time
of services Wednesday. |
