Hester Boggs McCartney, 96, of Grantsville WV, died April 10, 2016 at Minnie Hamilton Health System following a brief illness.
She was born March 3, 1920 at Cremo WV. She was a daughter of the late Gay and Cordelia Husk Boggs.
She was an avid quilter and gardener.
She is survived by one son, Robert "Bob" and wife Linda McCartney; daughter-in-law, Connie McCartney; grandchildren, Beth Stull, Robin Gordon, Scott McCartney and Sam McCartney; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Levi, Daerra, and Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rood McCartney, son Richard McCartney, brother Leonard Boggs and sister Verna Bell.
Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roger Carter officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Paul UMC Cemetery.
