William "Bill" Morris Monroe, 77, of Canton OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday March 17, 2016.
He was born in Burning Springs, W.Va. on December 20, 1938, to the late William Bartel Monroe and Madge Ellen Hodgen.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph Gay Hodgen; and by his sisters, Wanda Corbin and Helen Huff. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James William Mehl; and by his mother and father-in-law, Betty Lee and Delmar Frank Summers.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kay Ann Monroe; and their children, Katherine Lynn (Jim) Dugan, Mike (Jeannie) Monroe and Tonya (Gary) Gray. Bill's memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Cassie Sheppard, Joshua Sheppard, Olivia Monroe, Claire Monroe, Maria Kate Monroe, Erin Gray, and Emily Gray.
Bill worked as the Plant Manufacturing Manager for the Ravens Metal Products Company, he also served his country in the US Army and is the former Mayor of Elizabeth, W.Va. Bill was a member of The Free Masons Wirt Lodge No. 82, A.F. &A.M, a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Wirt Chapter No. 113, he also was a member of the Knights Templar Calvary Commandery No. 3. He was an active member of The Chapel in North Canton Church and of Paul & Carol David YMCA. Bill will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at Reed Funeral Home, North Canton, OH.
