Jean Cora Schiffleger, 98, Roane County, born March 2, 1927, has died at the age of 88 on February 24, 2016. "For dust you are and to dust you will return."
Jean married Clemens Schiffleger on a warm December day at her parents home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1945. Together they graduated from the 21st class of Gilead, a religious missionary school in Ithica, New York. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she was an active preacher and teacher of the good news of God's kingdom. Clem and Jean initiated two congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses-one in Eagle River, Wisconsin and the other in Kiel, Wisconsin.
Together they raised two children: Tom and Sarah; and have five grandchildren: Micah, Ben, Abi, Ian, and Andrew; and also four great-grandchildren: Violette, Conner, Carter, and Braelynn.
Jean will be remembered by her family and friends as a hardworking, deeply caring and generous woman. We are all given the assurance of God's promise to Job-"If a man dies, can he live again?...You will call and I will answer you. You will yearn for the work of your hands."
There will be a memorial service for Jean at the Spencer Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 6:00pm.
Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of the arrangements. |
