Daniel "Chevy" Greg Cheuvront, 48, passed onto our heavenly God February 21, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.
Dan was born May 17, 1967 to his parents Don and Elaine Cheuvront. He was 1987 graduate of Wirt County High School.
Along his path he touched many lives, showing kindness and helping others. He loved his two children, supporting their activities by coaching little league, volunteering in Boy Scouts and church activities at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, where he attended regularly.
Dan was also the best spelling test coach. He loved the outdoors and shared many hunting trips with friends and children. He loved operating heavy equipment, construction projects, and camping. He was a wrestler and played football in high school.
He was a Boilermaker, Local 667, out of Winfield WV. He enjoyed telling stories of close friendships and ornery pranks on the job. In his early years he worked at Ravens Metal in Elizabeth.
Daniel's family included his loving wife of 21 years, Beverly (Simmons); two children Remington Charles age 11 and Jacklyn Sue age 9; father, the late Donald Lee Cheuvront; mother, Bernice Elaine Cheuvront; brothers, Bub (Vicki), Mike (Beverly), and Andy.
The last four months he saw dedicated and loving friendship as he was overwhelmed with visitors, calls, and cards. Not knowing a stranger, as Dan entered hospitals, he made many new friends as he shared his miracles and blessings. Many of his friends and co-workers he considered family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 28 at the Wirt County High School Auditorium, 431 Mulberry St. Elizabeth, WV. Fellowship and food provided by the United Methodist Church will follow. Bring your stories and appetite, as Dan always enjoyed big stories and a good meal. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the children's fund at Wesbanco in Elizabeth, WV.
