| Mary Mae "Nanny" Smith age 78 of James St. in Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life on the evening of February 9, 2016 at her residence following a extended illness.
Born November 22, 1937 in Glenville, Mary was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Hoover Wanstreet.
Mary was a homemaker, member of the Gilmer County Farm Bureau, and member of the Dawson Baptist Church. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, baking, reading, working in her garden, and tending to her flowers. Mary loved to care for her family, spoil her grandchildren , and spend time with friends.
On November 24, 1956, Mary was united in marriage to Arnold Smith, who survives at their James St. home.
Surviving is 1 daughter, Roselea "Dottie" Sprouse of Glenville; 2 grandchildren, Johnathon Sprouse and wife Miranda "Randi" of Glenville, Lisa Radcliff and husband Argil of Weston, West Virginia; and 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Sprouse of Glenville and Hoyt Radcliff of Weston.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 with Elder Larry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Stalnaker Cemetery in Glenville. Friends will be received from 12 noon-1:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
