Rita Fae Dye, 36, of Spencer, West Virginia, formerly of Newton, died February 8, 2016, at home.
She was born November 28, 1979, at Spencer, the daughter of Janice Tucker Goodwin Haid of Spencer and the late Gary Goodwin.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frank Tucker, Sr. and Madeline Miller Tucker Fouty; step maternal grandfather, Larry Fouty; paternal grandfather, Theodore Goodwin; great aunt, 'Piper' Lawson; sister-in-law, Anita K. Brannon-Dye.
She had attended Gandee Chapel Church and Roane County High School. Rita also loved animals, fishing and playing bingo at the Newton Community Building.
In addition to her mother, survivors include two sons, Jonathan K. Dye, Jr., and Hunter D. Dye both of Newton; a daughter, Brooklyn F. Dye also of Newton; father of her children, Jonathan K. Dye of Newton; stepfather, Gary Haid of Spencer; brothers, Daniel Goodwin of Reedy and Gary Goodwin of Parkersburg; paternal grandmother, Lorene Goodwin of Chesapeake, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 12 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Minister Loretta Koon. Burial will be in the Smith-Dye Cemetery, Newton. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the funeral home.
