| Mary " Alda" Copen, 98, of Elizabeth WV passed away Jan. 20, 2016 at Parkersburg Care Center of Parkersburg WV after an
extended illness.
She was born in Wirt County the daughter of the late James and Lena (Bush) Fluharty.
Alda was a homemaker most of her life and a devoted wife and mother,
but later in life she was a home care provider and a baby sitter.
She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Richard (MaryAnn) Copen, Donald (Linda) Copen, both of Elizabeth and Donna (Kenneth) Yonkins of Palestine WV;
6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alda was preceded in death by her husband Dale Copen; 1 grandson Scott Yonkins; 5 brothers; 3 sisters;
1 infant brother; and 1 infant sister.
Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday Jan. 26, 2016 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with the Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Visitation will be Monday Jan 25, 2016 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth WV.
