| Beverly Joan Sutphin, 61, of Spencer, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord January 19, 2016 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer after an extended illness.
She was born August 16, 1954 in Spencer, a daughter of the late Howard and Frances Ella Dean "Dean" Burdette. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She worked at Spencer Foodland and as a cook at Roane County Schools.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gregory O. Sutphin; one son, Gregory O. Sutphin II of Spencer; three daughters, Ivy J. Carper of Looneyville, West Virginia, Amy N. Facemyer of Culloden, West Virginia and Abby J. Sutphin of Spencer; one brother, Jack Burdette; one sister, Betsy McClain; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Brooks Burdette.
Service will be at 2:00pm Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Rev. James Epling officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Visitation is two hours prior to the service on Sunday.
