A Shining Star goes to Millstone resident Ray Lahie.
Lahie moved to Calhoun in the late 1990s to live, coming from Michigan.
He was a member of the Lions Club for 30 years and has been a member of the Calhoun County Park Board, where he has dutifully maintained the large acreage by mowing, generally without any compensation.
Lahie, who owned a parts store and service center in Michigan, said his biggest talent is "I know how to fix things."
That talent has been instrumental in rural Calhoun, where he has been a Shining Star volunteer.
Unfortunately, because of his wife's health, he has had to back off from his upkeep of the county park.
Ray Lahie - you're a Shining Star.
