A Pediatric Advanced Life Support class (PALS) was held two days over the
weekend at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. Ten students, all
employees of MHHCC, completed the course.
All students passed the course with a score over 90%.
The students were instructed on the recognition and treatment of shock
and respiratory failure in the pediatric patient.
Instruction was also given on cardiac arrest, obtaining vascular access,
recognition and treatment of Cardiac rhythm disturbances and newborn
resusitation.
Students were required to pass through skill stations to indicate their level
of knowledge and skill, which was followed by a written exam.
