Huntington Police shut down several streets in the city for hours early Wednesday after neighbors reported shootings.
Witnesses said they heard several shots at 3 a.m. and again at 5 a.m. in the area of 9th Avenue between 16th and 17th streets.
The police SWAT team went house to house in search of suspects.
Investigators said they had found evidence of shell casings, and that bullets had hit a couple of homes. Blood was also found on one of the homes, they said.
SWAT teams forced their way into two homes to see if anyone was hurt. Police said they did not find a victim, but detained several people who may face charges. |
