At least 108 members of the 304th Military Police
Company US Army Reserve out of
Bluefield are headed to Georgia to take
part in Operation Noble Eagle Two.
The company
shipped out
this morning for Fort Stewart, and could be mobilized for two years.
Specialist Billy Pate, of Shady Spring, has
a wife who's expecting their first child in
April. Pate said he spent as much time
with his wife as possible over the
weekend.
A spokesperson for the unit said this is a difficult time for leaving, but it is always expected by reservists.
Call-up of reserve and National Guard units is part of a military build-up for Afghanistan and a possible war with Iraq.
