Waneta V. Sturms, 93, of Grantsville, WV passes peacefully on December 23, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV.
She was born on May 21, 1922, in Calhoun County, WV. She was a daughter of the late Odus and Ethel Barr Vannoy.
She was a Christian since January 12, 1936. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Grantsville.
She is survived by son, James Sturms; daughters, Deloris (Raymond) Metz and Janet (Roger) Cunningham; and brother, Hale Vannoy. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Mike (Virginia) Harris, Michele (Doug) Murray, Greg (Jody) Sturms, Jason (Kathryn) Sturms, Doug Cunningham, Chad (Tracy) Cunningham, Eric Cunningham, and Joseph (Miranda) Yeager; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a great-grandson due in May; and several step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 90 year old husband, Clay (Blackie) Sturms after 69 ½ years of marriage together; a son Charles Sturms; a grandson, Charlie Metz; four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Chesser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
