Thirty of the state's 55 counties showed an increase in unemployment in November.
Calhoun was among those with the highest unemployment at 11.3%, with seasonal unemployment generally not spiking until after Christmas.
Calhoun and regional counties unemployment rate is closely tied to the layoffs in the state's Marcellus and Utica Shale natural gas development.
Unemployment rates are based on individuals currently applying for benefits.
Joblessness went up across the central and eastern parts of the state in an area from Pleasants County east to Hardy County. There were also more laid off residents in the southern coalfields last month.
Nine of the 55 counties showed no change.
