SPENCER, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Some drivers in Roane County got a surprise when they were "pulled over" Friday.
The Spencer Police Department went around Friday, pulling over drivers.
When officers walked up to the window, they would tell the driver they were pulling them over for a traffic violation.
To the drivers surprise, they weren't being pulled over for any violations at all.
Instead, the officers handed over a cash gift.
Two members of the department, Chief Nichols and Officer Fields, participated in hopes of spreading a little Christmas cheer throughout the town.
