Calhoun Varsity girl's basketball traveled to Webster and come away with a 43-31 victory. Calhoun despite a poor shooting night wore out Webster for the second time this season pulling away in the second half out scoring Webster 26- 15 in the second half.
Makayla Smith was the leading scorer with fourteen points. Taylor Garrett was second with eight Carissa Yoak came off the bench and scored six, Kaylea Bennett had four, Katie Jones, Aleah Dye, and Alisha Fulks all had three, Ashley Hersman had two.
Tori Allen lead the team with twelve rebounds, Taylor Garrett was second with a season high ten rebounds. Katie Jones ripped eight boards. Makayla Smith had six, Carissa Yoak grabbed five. Along with her four points Kaylea Bennett added three assists and three steals.
Tori Allen also had three steals while shutting down Webster's primary player. Despite playing against a box and one defense Smith scored hit eight free throws and finished the game with five steals and two assists.
Calhoun JV lost to Webster by a score of 39-28. Katie Jones scored nine points in the first quarter. Carissa Yoak and Alisha Fulks each scored five. Whitney Stevens, and Ashley Hersman added four while Amber Garrett scored one. Brogan Richards, Erica Heiney, Makayla Toney, Kaitlyn Toney, Kinley Hosey, and Kaylea Bennett all played and didn't not score.
Calhoun's next game is Monday December 21 home against Wood County Christian Varsity only starting at 6.
*Calhoun's away game against Clay has been moved to January 5th.
